  • Established in 1973, Murdoch University is a public institute located in Perth, Australia. Over 23,000 students are enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs in 9 study areas, namely, business, engineering, and Teaching. 
  • The university has a staff of 1,700 members. Data Science, Asian Studies, Creative Media, Global Security and Extractive Metallurgy are some of the 313 courses offered here. The four Murdoch University campuses are the Perth campus, CBD campus, Mandurah campus and Rockingham campus.
  •  Students would find books, journals, articles, e-publications and numerous study spaces at the three libraries; Geoffrey Bolton Library, Mandurah Campus Library and Veterinary Library. 
  • On FutureLearn, students can access numerous Murdoch University online courses (some are free) on health, environment, technology etc. Murdoch enabling courses (online and offline) like FlexiTrack, On Track, and K-Track act like pathways for students looking to enroll at the university. Several Honours courses like Communications, Criminology and Law are available for students who wish to pursue a postgraduate program. Students can also opt to study part-time and later on switch to a full-time program. 
  • Through the Study Abroad and Exchange Program, students from Murdoch University's Singapore, Dubai and Myanmar campuses or its partner universities can study here. HELP loans, AJ Parker Memorial Scholarship, Academic Excellence Awards, Apiam Animal Health Bursary and Alumni Tuition Fee Discounts are some financial aid options. 
  • Murdoch University Villages provides housing to over 800 students in 1-6 bedroom apartments. Students can opt for off-campus housing; there are shared and independent accommodation options in the suburbs. There are over 110 Murdoch Guild clubs (Murdoch Rockers, The Singapore Link, VETSOS etc.) and several sports teams to join like cricket, athletics, badminton and netball. 
  • Some fitness facilities on campus include indoor/outdoor courts, the Lower Bush Court sports field, sports oval and The Zone Fitness Centre. According to reports, Murdoch University MBA graduates have earned an average salary of AUD 77,000.

Student work placements are an extended amount of time spent working on a defined programme under appropriate workplace supervision in the workplace of a host organisation. Students perform unpaid labour to fulfil the criteria of a vocational placement while earning academic credit for their course. Student work placements may also be known as, depending on the discipline:

The terms and conditions of the student work placement can be outlined in a workplace business agreement that suitable organisations can sign with Murdoch University. In accordance with our insurance policies, the agreement details the student's insurance coverage. Typically, the terms of the agreement are set for a three-year period. There is no obligation to offer positions at this time.

Murdoch University Village is home to a thriving community of over 800 students. The village offers a variety of safe residences and recreational amenities such as a beach volleyball court, pool, study rooms, and a student lounge.

You can also participate in the Live, Learn, and Grow residential living programme, which will assist you in adjusting to college life.

You can apply for homestay housing through the Australian Homestay Network if you are travelling to Australia from abroad and want to experience living as a member of an Australian family. Facilities provided are:

  • With guidance from local authorities, take advantage of the neighbourhood and culture

Murdoch University has a great atmosphere and is a welcoming, inclusive and safe campus. The facilities are great, the faculty are helping and the placements are plentiful. The food is good, housing is always available and the cost of living is affordable.

Murdoch University is one of the best universities in Australia, and I'm happy to have been offered a place there. It offers an inclusive nature, friendly campus, on campus housing, off campus housing, good faculty, food and placements. The living expenses are also very reasonable and helpful.
