  • Durham University is located in England. The university holds 563 acres of the estate with an ancient monument, more than 300 buildings, and additional 111 acres of woodland. Being 40 miles apart, the two major university campuses, Queen's Campus and Durham City, are connected by a frequently run bus service, With over 18,000 (30% international) students in 26 schools and 17 colleges. 
  • The university offers more than 200 graduate and 100 postgraduate courses and an online research portal called Durham Research Online (DRO). Durham University admits certified students to IELTS (6.5), TOEFL (92), SAT (1300), GMAT (600), and PTE (62) with a 72% acceptance rate. 
  • You can apply for three academic terms at Durham University- Michaelmas Term (October to December), Epiphany Term (January to March), and Easter Term (April to June)

You may be qualified to attend a route programme at the Durham University International Study Centre if you do not meet the prerequisites for direct entry to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. The International Study Centre, located on our Queen's Campus, provides a welcoming setting in which you will be introduced to the teaching style you would encounter if you continue on to your degree. The programmes are designed to help you improve your academic knowledge, study skills, and English language abilities. You can progress to your degree at Durham University City Campus after completing your pathway programme at the International Study Centre and earning the requisite grades.

English Preparation, International Foundation Year, and Pre-Masters route programmes are available.

Durham University Library contains 1.5 million printed volumes in its five branches, Bill Bryson Library (main), Queenäó»s Campus Library, Leazes Road Library, Palace Green Library, and Durham Business School Library. With 63 listed buildings, the university also handles the Durham World Heritage Site, including Palace Green, Durham Castle, and Art Deco chapel. 

With an average expense of GBP 111 per week with different room and catering options, you can accommodate the on-campus hostels in every college with a TV room, Games Room, Cafí©, Study Space, and Laundry Facilities. 

There are around 220 undergraduate places and 30 postgraduate rooms available. The majority of our rooms are single, standard - with a single bed and common bathroom and toilet – but we also have 42 ensuite rooms, 26 shared rooms with two single beds, and several double rooms. All of the bedrooms feature a bed, a bin, storage, a desk and chair, and all but two have a sink. Please contact us for more information about our accessible accommodations.

The University's price for College accommodation is adopted by St John's College, with certain changes to additional levies and reductions. These include not charging extra for 3/4 and double beds, as well as not offering discounts for rooms without a sink.

Durham University offers a wide range of academic and social opportunities on campus. The university is home to numerous cultural events, sporting and recreational opportunities in the summer, and is host to many student societies. There are also many other facilities such as: cafes, bars, nightclubs, educational establishments and bookshops.

We were extremely impressed by the way they have grown over the last few years, with a new sports centre, student accommodation and a great dining facility.
