What qualifications are required for admission?

Undergraduate

Requirements in School

  • Successful completion of standard X and XII (Higher Secondary School Certificate) examinations with minimum grades of 70 to 85 percent, depending on the course and test board.
  • All of our programmes are in the AAA – BBB category on the English A level. Please review the chart below to see how Indian State board results and STD XII ISC/CBSE scores compare to English A level grades for the purposes of making an offer.
  • The percentage will be calculated using the best of four core subjects combined (including English).

Taught at the postgraduate level

Academic

  • Obtaining a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least a first division (high second division from some universities).
  • Three-year Bachelor's degrees, such as B Coms, can be accepted, however the information covered in these degrees may not be sufficient for our more specialized programmes, such as MSc Finance.

Postdoctoral Research

Academic

Students interested in pursuing a research programme should typically complete a Masters degree and obtain strong grades (1st class or 60%+) before enrolling in a research programme.

Language requirements in English

You must demonstrate your ability to communicate in English in order to study at the University of Liverpool. If you need a visa to study in the United Kingdom, you must show proof of English proficiency.
