During its initial days, Miss Mary Ann Baxter and John Boyd Baxter donated £140,000 for establishing the college in Dundee, which marked the establishment of the university. The present campus of the university has been developed in the last 50 years.

The University of Dundee is a research university in Dundee, Scotland, that was initially established as a university college in 1881. When it comes to the University of Dundee ranking, The Complete University Guide and The Guardian have placed the institution among the top 20 universities for 2021. As part of their ranking criteria, The Complete University Guide takes into account Graduate Prospects, Research Quality, Research Intensity, and Entry Standards. Entry Standards, Student-Staff Ratio, Value-Added Services, and Career Prospects are the main ranking factors used by The Guardian.

Other ranking organisations have placed the institution based on their own criteria. US News & World Report's Global Universities put the university 312 for 2021, Times Higher Education (THE) - University Ranking placed it between 201 and 250, and QS - World University Ranking placed it at 319.

For five years in a row, from 2017 to 2021, The Guardian and The Complete University Guide ranked engineering courses in the top 40 courses for popular programmes. Admission requirements

To be considered for a seat on the International Incorporated Bachelor's (IIB) or International Incorporated Master's (IIM) programmes at International College Dundee, you must meet our English language criteria. Both courses require an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher, with 5.5 in each component.

If you do not meet these English Language criteria, we recommend that you take a pre-sessional English course before beginning the first stage of your selected IIB or IIM programme.

Accommodation at Dundee

All of our student housing is self-catering, with single bedrooms that have an en-suite shower and toilet. We can discover the right location to live for you among our nearly 1600 bedrooms spread across four campuses.

Accommodation applications will open in May. We will contact you through email if you have firmly accepted Dundee as your first option on UCAS. Invitations are sent out based on the date and time you selected Dundee as your preferred destination.
