Stanford University accepts applications from students worldwide. The application criteria are the same whether a student is a domestic or an international applicant. The application form, as well as the appropriate supplements, must be completed by all candidates. The university has no bias, and the Admissions Committee treats all applications equally.

For Undergraduate Students:

International undergraduate students must have graduated from high school with honours (GPA equivalent to 95 percent and above).

  • English: The emphasis is on writing and reading for four years.
  • Mathematics: The emphasis is on core mathematical abilities such as algebra, trigonometry, plane, solid, and analytic geometry throughout four years.
  • History/Social Studies: Three or more years.
  • Science: Three years of laboratory science (biology, chemistry, and physics) are required.
  • Foreign Language: Three years or more of study in the same foreign language.
  • Standardized Test Scores: For first-year and transfer applicants interested in attending Stanford, A.C.T. or SAT scores are not required. For five years, these results are valid.
  • English Language Proficiency: Scores on standardized tests.

For Postgraduate Students:

In a given academic year, international students applying for admission to Stanford University can only apply to one graduate program.

  • Students from outside the United States must have earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a recognized university or college.
  • It is also necessary to show proof of standardized exams such as the GRE, GMAT, or LSAT. Although there is no minimum score requirement for graduate studies at Stanford, candidates who achieve high scores have a considerably better chance of being accepted.
  • TOEFL scores are the only proof of English ability accepted by Stanford. The university does not accept IELTS or other tests.

However, the college maintains a low acceptance rate of only 3.9%.

Stanford University is an institute that I have been interested in for a long time. When I heard about it, I decided to go check out the campus and see what it was all about. My first impression of Wilfrid Laurier was how beautiful the campus is! The view from the top of Hagey Hall was breathtaking, and there were so many trees around that made me feel like everything was green! The students are very friendly too. They seem happy to be at WLU and they're always talking with each other on their cell phones or walking up an down stairs laughing together as if they’re best friends already!

I am currently a student at Stanford University. I have been studying here for the past 4 years and I absolutely love it! The campus is beautiful, the people are amazing, and there is so much to do on campus. There are many different activities that you can participate in such as: ice hockey, volleyball, soccer, rugby etc.. You also get to meet new friends while doing these activities. Also being able to go out with your fellow classmates makes everything more fun because you get to know each other better.
